Prelims cut off from

Union Public Services Commission conducts Exam to recruit eligible candidates for the rank of IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS and other Group A services and Group B also. This exam consists three stages-Prelims, Mains and Interview. who clear prelims can sit for mains paper and similarly who clear mains can sit for interview/personality test. The final merit list will be prepared on the basic of, candidate’s performance Mains and the Personality Test. Marks of prelims exam are not count in final list.

So, for selection of each state required minimum marks is knows as cut off mark of UPSC.

2. Wherever two or more candidates have secured equal aggregate marks in CSE Exam, 2018, the tie(s) have been resolved in accordance with the principles approved by the Commission, viz.

(i) Candidate securing more marks in the Compulsory Papers and the Personality Test put together is to be ranked higher; (ii) In case where the marks mentioned at (i) above are equal, the
candidate senior in age is to be ranked higher; and

(iii) In case where the (i) and (ii) above are same, then the candidate getting more marks in the compulsory papers is to be ranked higher.
